I put together a little vlog from my time at Open Sauce 2025 this year! It was overall a pretty great time. I went to the Industry Day on Friday, and then attended both Saturday and Sunday of the event. There were tons of creators, engineers, and more there. It took place in San Mateo, California.

What even is Open Sauce?

Open Sauce is essentially a science fair for adults, held in San Francisco. It brings together creators, engineers, and exhibitors showing off everything from technical builds to interactive demonstrations. This is the third year that it's happened and this is my third year attending. This was definitely the biggest year yet and it went pretty smoothly this year.

Thursday: Museums and Exploring the City

I don’t have video from Wednesday or Thursday, but Thursday was a full day of exploring. We visited the computer museum, which had a wide mix of older and newer technology, some of it not that old, but apparently “museum-worthy” now. We also spent time downtown, stopped at the Hard Rock Cafe, and later went to the Exploratorium, where we met up with several people connected to Open Sauce.

Friday: Industry Day and the Afterparty

Friday was Industry Day, with panels featuring people working in the YouTube industry, followed by an afterparty. Overall, the day ran smoothly and felt like a strong improvement compared to last year. During the day, I ran into several familiar faces and a lot of YouTubers. I ran into Kevin, who was laser-engraving badges using a portable engrave, and Evan and Katelyn, who I was able to speak with for a minute and grab a photo with them! I have managed to take a photo with them all 3 years of Open Sauce! After Industry Day wrapped up, attendees were able to walk through exhibits early. There were plenty of roaming props and interactive displays, and the afterparty space itself was fairly packed.

Saturday And Sunday: The Event

I spent most of my time on Saturday visiting panels. There were a lot that I wanted to see, including the Safety Third panel - which is normally the first panel of the day. The best panel was, by far, the Are You Dumber Than a Sixth Grader? panel. It was so funny and awesome to watch. I also was fortunate enough to attend a creator meet and greet this year. The creator that I chose was Willam Osman and it's basically a 40-minute long session where about 20 people sit in a circle and chat with and ask that creator a variety of questions. Sunday, I spent a lot more of my day out and about looking at different exhibits.

Closing Thoughts

I had a blast this year at Open Sauce and I'm glad I was able to go. I think I'm probably going to skip the event in 2026 just because there are some other things that I want to go and do - and they say all great things come in 3s haha. So I'm going to skip a year and go to Open Sauce #5.
